The Thuis House is open every Sunday through Wednesday as a free place to study, take a break, and/or grab a free cup of tea of coffee. There are plenty of tables and couches waiting for you. Pick a spot to get some schoolwork done on your laptop, or procrastinate for a while by challenging someone to a ping pong tournament.
We hope that the space can feel like a living room to you — cozy, welcoming, and like a home away from home. Come see us soon!

Join us every Thursday for dinner and meaningful discussions! Dinner is free and will be available from 19:00-20:00. From about 20:00-21:00 we’ll have a conversation about life & faith, then spend the rest of the evening playing board games and enjoying tea and coffee. All students welcome!

Volleyball
Whether you’ve played for years or have never played before, our volleyball group is for you. Every Sunday, Thuis participates in casual volleyball games in Sports Hall 1 of UM Sports. We play from 15:30-17:00, but we usually arrive around 15:00 to warm up.
A UM Sports membership is not required, but we do request a €2 contribution (paid by cash or bank transfer on the Sunday you attend) to help cover the cost of the court rental. See you there!
Thuis Closed April 7-10
Thuis will be closed April 7-10 for a conference. We will resume normal activities and open study hours on Sunday, April 13!
Volleyball & Volleyball Dinner
Whether you’ve played for years or have never played before, our volleyball group is for you. Every Sunday, Thuis participates in casual volleyball games in Sports Hall 1 of UM Sports. We play from 15:30-17:00, but we usually arrive around 15:00 to warm up.
A UM Sports membership is not required, but we do request a €2 contribution (paid by cash or bank transfer on the Sunday you attend) to help cover the cost of the court rental.
Once a month, we also provide a free dinner after volleyball! After we play, you are welcome to share a meal & get to know everyone better. Hope to see you there!
Easter Trip to Taizé
Thuis is going to Taizé!
From April 17-21, Thuis will be partnering with The InnBetween university student chaplaincy to spend Easter weekend in Taizé, France. Taizé is an ecumenical (Protestant and Catholic) religious community where young people from around the world gather to pray, search for peace, and reflect on how they might make peace within their own communities.
Here’s what to expect during this trip:
Travel to and from Taizé with other students
Opportunities to explore spiritual practices like prayer, silence, and singing, and to process your experiences with other young people
The chance to experience Easter traditions with young adults from around the world

Christmas Service at Sint Janskerk
On Wednesday, December 18 we will be hosting a Christmas service at the Sint Janskerk in collaboration with the InnBetween.
Please join us in the red tower for a time of Christmas carols, candlelight, and an Advent reflection on love. No matter your backgrounds or beliefs, you are welcome to join! This is a service for both students and the wider Maastricht community, so feel free to bring your friends and family along.
The service will begin at 19:00, but the doors will open around 18:30. After the service, you are welcome to stay for coffee, tea, and conversation. We hope you can join us!
End-of-Year Celebration
Don’t miss Thuis’s last Thursday of the year!
On Thursday, December 12, please join us to celebrate the past semester & honor the people who will be finishing their studies or moving away from Maastricht. We’ll have dinner as usual from 19:00, followed by a toast & Christmas-y activities. Afterwards, you can either join a group at the Christmas market or stay cozy in the Thuis house chatting, watching Christmas movies, or playing board games.
We’ll be ordering pizza, so please *register at the link below* to let us know if you’ll be attending! This will also help us prepare some small gifts for those who will be leaving the Thuis community in December or January.

Park Day
Join us for a weekly park day on Sunday afternoons. We’ll be in Stadspark from about 15:30-18:00 for sports, games, & some time in the sunshine. We’ll bring the volleyball, spikeball, and card games; you bring the energy!
